Cause Correction

Electronic fault codes active or high counts of inactive fault codes

Refer to Section TF in the Troubleshooting and Repair Manual, CELECT™ Plus systems, Bulletin 3666130, or Section TF in the Troubleshooting and Repair Manual, CELECT™ Systems, Bulletin 3666084.

 

Fuel level is low in the tank

Fill the supply tank. Refer to the OEM service manual.

 

Starting motor rotation is not correct

Check the direction of crankshaft rotation. Replace the starting motor if necessary. Refer to Procedure 013-020.

 

Fuel shutoff valve(s) closed (electronically controlled injection)

Check the fuel shutoff valve and circuit. Refer to Procedures Procedures 019-049 and 019-050 in the Troubleshooting and Repair Manual, CELECT™ Plus Systems, Bulletin 3666130, or the Troubleshooting and Repair Manual, CELECT™ Systems, Bulletin 3666084.

 

Fuel shutoff valve(s) closed (mechanical fuel system)

Use the manual opening knob. Check the shutoff valve and the electrical circuit. Refer to Procedure 005-043. Replace the shutoff valve if necessary.

 

Auxiliary shutdown device (Skinner valve) is closed. External governor is malfunctioning or not installed correctly

Repair or replace the shutdown device or external governor.

 

Battery voltage supply to the electronic control module (ECM) has been lost

Check the battery connections. Check the fuses and the unswitched battery supply circuit. Refer to Procedures 019-198 and 019-087 in the Troubleshooting and Repair Manual, CELECT™ Plus Systems, Bulletin 3666130, or the Troubleshooting and Repair Manual, CELECT™ Systems, Bulletin 3666084.

 

Fuel filter or fuel suction line is restricted

Replace the fuel filter. Refer to Procedure 006-015. Check the fuel suction line for restriction Procedure 006-015.

 

Fuel connections on the low-pressure side of the pump are loose

Tighten all fuel fittings and connections between the fuel tanks and the fuel pump.

 

Fuel drain line restriction

Check or replace the fuel lines, check valves, or tank vents as needed. Refer to Procedure 006-012.

 

Fuel suction standpipe in the fuel tank is broken

Check and repair the standpipe, if necessary. Refer to the OEM service manual.

 

In-line check valve(s) are installed backwards or have incorrect part number

Inspect the check valve(s) for correct installation and part number.

 

Fuse(s) malfunctioning

Replace the fuse(s) in the OEM interface harness. Refer to Procedure 019-198 in the Troubleshooting and Repair Manual, CELECT™ Plus Systems, Bulletin 3666130.

 

PT fuel pump air actuated RSG piston o-ring seal is leaking

Check the air actuated RSG piston o-ring seal. Refer to PT Fuel Pump Rebuild and Calibration Manual, Bulletin 3379084. When the seal leaks, the RSG air pressure pumps fuel from the pump into the supply line.

 

Injector is malfunctioning (CELECT™ and CELECT™ Plus)

Perform the automated cylinder performance test. Replace injectors as necessary. Refer to Procedure 006-026.
