Turbocharger Speed High (Calculated). Turbocharger speed calculation indicates turbocharger speed is above the engine protection warning limit. |
Engine will run derated. |
ECM Microprocessor

Circuit Description
The electronic control module (ECM) calculates turbocharger speed based on air to fuel ratio, final timing and inputs from the intake manifold temperature and pressure (Combo) sensor, ambient air pressure sensor and the engine speed sensor. If the calculated turbocharger speed becomes too high, it will cause a derate condition.
Component Location
There is not a physical turbocharger speed sensor in the system. The turbocharger speed is a calculation of intake manifold temperature, intake manifold pressure, ambient air pressure, engine speed, air to fuel ratio, and fuel timing. Refer to Procedure 100-002 in Section E for a detailed component location view.
