Mechanical Gas Fuel System G5.9, G8.3 – Engine Will Not Shut Off

This is symptom tree b081
Cause Correction

Stop/Run switch circuit is malfunctioning

Check the Stop/Run switch circuit. Refer to the OEM service manual.
 

Fuel shutoff is malfunctioning

Check for loose wires and verify that the fuel shutoff valve is functioning. Refer to Procedure 005-044.
 

Engine is running on fumes drawn into the air intake

Check the air intake ducts. Locate and isolate the source of the fumes. Repair as necessary. Refer to the OEM service manual.
