Circuit Description
The engine oil pressure sensor is used by the electronic control module
(ECM) to monitor the lubricating oil pressure. The ECM monitors the voltage on the signal pin and converts this to a pressure value.
Component Location
The engine oil pressure sensor is located on the left side of the engine block. Refer to Procedure 100-002 for a detailed component location view.
Shop Talk
Possible causes of this fault code include:
- Open return circuit in the harness, connectors, or sensor
- Signal circuit shorted to sensor supply or battery voltage.
