NOTE: Some chassis will allow the ECM to be moved aside with the wiring harness attached, for access to the cooling plate.
Disconnect the engine wiring harness and OEM harness connectors, if necessary. Refer to Procedure 019-031 in the Troubleshooting and Repair Manual CM870 Electronic Control System Signature and ISX Engines, Bulletin 4021334.
When using solvents, acids, or alkaline materials for cleaning, follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for use. Wear goggles and protective clothing to reduce the possibility of personal injury.
WARNING
Wear appropriate eye and face protection when using compressed air. Flying debris and dirt can cause personal injury.
Clean the cooling plate mounting surfaces with solvent.
Check the cooling plate fuel supply and return line fittings on the ECM cooling plate, integrated fuel system module, and fuel pump to make sure the o-rings are installed properly and are not damaged.
Replace the o-ring, fitting, or cooling plate if damaged.
Connect the ECM harness and engine wiring harness. Refer to Procedure 019-031 in the Troubleshooting and Repair Manual CM870 Electronic Control System Signature and ISX Engines, Bulletin 4021334.
