 WARNING 

Disconnect the batteries or air supply line to the air starter to prevent accidental engine starting and personal injury.
 CAUTION 

Do not pry or pull on the fan. The fan blades can be damaged.

Remove the fan.

Inspect for Reuse

 WARNING 

Do not straighten a bent fan blade or continue to use a damaged fan. A bent or damaged fan blade can fail during operation and cause personal injury or property damage.

Replace the original equipment fan with a fan of the identical part number. Cummins Inc. must approve any other fan changes.

An inspection of the cooling fan is required daily.

Check for cracks, loose rivets, bent or loose blades, and for contact between the fan blade tips and the fan shroud.

Check the fan to make sure it is securely mounted. Tighten the capscrews, if necessary. Refer to the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications for fan capscrew torque value.

Replace any fan that is damaged.

Install

Install the fan.

Tighten the mounting capscrews. Refer to OEM specifications.

Connect the batteries or air starter supply line.
