Electronic Control System ISM and QSM11 Engines – 019-038   Engine Position Sensor (EPS)

The engine position sensor is located on the front cover of the engine, near the air compressor.

Disconnect the sensor from the engine harness.

To remove the EPS from the cylinder block, use Part No. 3822747.

Inspect the engine position sensor for debris, cracked or chipped potting, extruded potting, and damage from contact with the cam gear.

If there is debris on the engine position sensor, clean the sensor.

If the sensor is chipped, cracked, extruded, or damaged, replace the sensor with a new one.

Install a new o-ring onto the engine position sensor.

Install the new sensor into the mounting hole.

Tighten the EPS with the installation tool, Part No. 3822747.

Connect the sensor to the engine harness. Push the connectors together until they lock.
