CM871 and CM876 Electronic Control Systems, ISX and ISM Engines – Engine Will Not Shut Off

Cause Correction

Keyswitch circuit is malfunctioning

Check the vehicle keyswitch circuit. Refer to Procedure 019-064.
 

Engine is running on fumes drawn into the air intake

Check the air intake ducts. Locate and isolate the source of the fumes. Repair as necessary. Refer to the OEM service manual.
 

Turbocharger oil seal is leaking

Check the turbocharger compressor and turbine seals. Refer to Procedure 010-033 in the ISM, ISMe and QSM11 Service Manual, Bulletin 3666322, or the Signature, ISX and QSX15 Service Manual, Bulletin 3666239.
