Overview
Sensor Supply B – Low Voltage
CODE | REASON | EFFECT |
Fault Code: 187 PID: S232 SPN: 1080 FMI: 4 LAMP: Yellow SRT: |
Low voltage detected on the electronic control module (ECM) voltage supply line to fuel rail pressure sensor. |
Possible low power. |
![]() Sensor Supply B – Low-Voltage Circuit
|
Circuit Description
The ECM supplies the fuel pressure sensor with +5 VDC. If the supply line to this sensor is damaged, the sensor will not work correctly.
Component Location
The fuel pressure sensor is located on the high-pressure common rail, which is above the intake manifold housing.
Shop Talk
Low voltage on the sensor +5-VDC supply line can be caused by a short circuit to ground in a supply line, a short circuit between a supply line and a return line, a failed sensor, or a failed ECM power supply. If Fault Codes 187 and 452 are active, begin troubleshooting Fault Code 187 first.
