OEM temperature out-of-range has been detected. Voltage signal at OEM temperature signal pin indicates OEM temperature is beyond OEM-specified threshold.

Calibration-dependent progressive power derate and engine shutdown with increasing time after alert.

Circuit Description

The OEM temperature is used by the electronic control module (ECM) to monitor the temperature of an OEM component or engine conditions. The OEM temperature sensor is used by the ECM for a protection system.

Component Location

This sensor is installed by the vehicle’s OEM. Use the OEM troubleshooting and repair manual for location.

Shop Talk

Make sure the airflow through the radiator is not obstructed.
