Calibration-dependent progressive power derate and engine shutdown with increasing time after alert.

Circuit Description

The fuel temperature sensor is used by the electronic control module (ECM) to monitor the temperature of the fuel supply. The fuel temperature is used by the ECM for the engine protection and fuel heater aids.

Component Location

The fuel temperature sensor is located on the fuel filter housing.

Shop Talk

Make sure the fuel tanks are adequately filled. The drained fuel heats the fuel in the tank; therefore, keep the fuel tanks at a full level when operating in hot conditions.
