Circuit Description
The electronic fuel control actuator controls how much fuel is delivered to the high-pressure pump. The electronic control module (ECM) supplies an electronic current to the fuel control actuator. The electronic fuel control actuator is normally open and is only closed when current is supplied.
Component Location
The electronic fuel control actuator is located on the intake side of the engine. The actuator is attached to the high-pressure pump, which is mounted on the rear gear housing.
Shop Talk
A short circuit of the electronic fuel control actuator can cause low power at rated conditions.
