Circuit Description

This fault indicates the fuel pressure in the fuel rail pressure is consistently lower than the electronic control module (ECM) is commanding. The electronic fuel control actuator controls how much fuel is delivered to the high-pressure pump. The ECM supplies an electronic current to the fuel control actuator. The electronic fuel control actuator is normally open and is only closed when maximum current is supplied. The high-pressure fuel is accumulated in the fuel rail. The fuel rail pressure sensor measures the fuel pressure and sends a signal to the ECM.

Component Location

The fuel system is located on the air intake side of the engine.
