Centinel™ Oil Control Valve Circuit – Shorted Low

Centinel™ Oil Control Valve Circuit SMALL | MEDIUM | LARGE

Circuit Description

The Centinel™ oil control valve is controlled by the ECM. The ECM sends a voltage signal to the valve which diverts a preset amount of engine oil into the fuel system to be burned.

Shop Talk

This fault is logged when the ECM commands the Centinel™ oil control valve ON and detects a lower signal voltage than expected at the output.

Possible causes for this fault include:

• Short circuit to ground in the oil control valve or engine harness.
• Faulty ECM circuit
• Low internal resistance of Centinel™ oil control valve.
