![]() Front Fueling Actuator Circuit
|
Circuit Description
The electronic control module (ECM) supplies voltage to open the front fueling actuator for a short length of time. This allows a short pulse of fuel to flow to the injector. The injector then injects the fuel into the cylinder for combustion.
Component Location
The front fueling actuator is located on the fuel control housing. It is the first actuator from the front of the engine. The fuel control housing is located on the intake side of the engine below the exhaust gas mixer. Use the following procedure for a detailed component location view. Refer to Procedure 100-002 in Section E.
Shop Talk
The ECM estimates the amount of fuel injected into the front and rear banks of the engine by analyzing the acceleration of the crankshaft. This fault is set active when the estimate of fueling on the front bank is higher than expected.
Refer to Troubleshooting Fault Code 2552.
