Injector Metering Rail Number 1 Fueling Low – WarningAn unexpectedly low fuel delivery was detected on the front three cylinders. |
Low power or rough idle. |
Hydraulic Fuel System
|
Circuit Description
The electronic control module (ECM) supplies voltage to open the front fueling actuator for a short length of time. This allows a short pulse of fuel to flow to the injector. The injector then injects the fuel into the cylinder for combustion.
Component Location
The front fueling actuator is located on the fuel control housing. It is the first actuator from the front of the engine. The fuel control housing is located on the intake side of the engine below the exhaust gas mixer. Refer to Procedure 100-002 in Section E for a detailed component location view.
Shop Talk
The ECM estimates the amount of fuel delivered to each bank by monitoring the crankshaft acceleration pattern as it rotates. This fault is set active if the ECM estimates that the front bank is receiving insufficient fuel flow.
