Engine Brake Actuator Circuit #2 – Voltage Above Normal or Shorted to High Source. Open circuit or high voltage detected at the engine brake solenoid number 2 signal circuit. |
Engine brake on cylinders 4, 5, and 6 can not be activated. |
Engine Brake Circuit
|
Circuit Description
The ECM controls engine brakes on cylinders 4, 5, and 6 by sending a signal on the engine brake solenoid number 2 signal circuit. A 2-pin Weather Pack connector is located near the number 3 injector pass-through connector at the back of the engine. There is a jumper harness from this connector to the engine brake pass-through connectors on the rocker lever housing.
Component Location
The engine brake solenoids are located under the valve cover. The engine brake solenoids are controlled through the engine harness from the ECM.
