Coolant temperature is above specification |
Refer to the Coolant Temperature is Above Normal – Sudden Overheat or the Coolant Temperature is Above Normal – Gradual Overheat symptom tree. |

Lubricating oil level is above or below specification |
Check the oil level. Add or drain oil, if necessary. Refer to Procedure 007-043 (Lubricating Oil Level) in Section 3. Check the dipstick calibration. Refer to a Cummins Authorized Repair Facility. |

|
Lubricating oil does not meet specifications for operating conditions |
Change the oil and filters. Refer to Procedure 007-002 (Lubricating Oil and Filters) in Section 4. Use the oil type recommended in Section V. |

Lubricating oil temperature sensor or circuit is malfunctioning (electronic controlled fuel system) |
Check the lubricating oil temperature sensor and circuit. Refer to the OEM service manual or a Cummins Authorized Repair Facility. |

OEM components cooled with engine lubricating oil are malfunctioning |
Check OEM components. Refer to the OEM service manual. |

Lubricating oil cooler is malfunctioning |
