Preparatory Steps

Dual-Piston
Disconnect the burn solenoid connector from the Centinel™ wiring harness.
Next
Remove the hose (1) from the top of the solenoid.
While holding the solenoid nut (3), loosen and remove the 3/8-24 SAE o-ring adapter (2).

Single-Piston
Remove the hose (1) from the top of the solenoid.
While holding the solenoid retaining nut (3), loosen and remove the 3/8-24 SAE o-ring adapter (2).

Dual-Piston
Loosen and remove the solenoid retaining nut (1).
Lift and remove the solenoid cover and solenoid coil (2) from the valve.
Remove the spring washer (3) and two washers/spacers (4) that were under the solenoid coil.
Remove the o-ring (5) from the solenoid mounting stem.

Single-Piston
Loosen and remove the solenoid retaining nut (1).
Lift and remove the solenoid cover and solenoid coil (2) from the valve.
Remove the spring washer (3) that was under the solenoid coil.
Remove the o-ring (4) from the solenoid mounting stem.
Previous Next
Install
TOC
Dual-Piston
Lubricate and install a new o-ring (5) on the solenoid mounting stem.
Install the two washer spacers (4) and the spring washer (3).
Place the new solenoid coil and cover (2) on the valve mounting stem.
Install the solenoid retaining nut (1) and tighten.
Torque Value: 5 n.m [44 in-lb]

Single-Piston
Lubricate and install a new o-ring (4) on the solenoid mounting stem.
Install the spring washer (3).
Place the new solenoid coil and cover (2) on the valve mounting stem.
Install the solenoid retaining nut (1) and tighten.
Torque Value: 5 n.m [44 in-lb]

Finishing Steps

NOTE : Inspect the o-ring for damage. Replace if necessary.
Install the 3/8-24 o-ring adapter (2).
While holding the solenoid retaining nut (3), tighten the adapter.
Torque Value: 14 n.m [124 in-lb]
Install the hose (1) to the 3/8-24 o-ring adapter.

NOTE : Inspect the o-ring for damage. Replace if necessary.
Install the 3/8-24 o-ring adapter (2).
While holding the solenoid retaining nut (3), tighten the adapter.
Torque Value: 14 n.m [124 in-lb]
Install the hose (1) to the 3/8-24 o-ring adapter.
