Preparatory Steps

Disconnect the make-up solenoid connector from the Centinel™ wiring harness.

CAUTION
Do not bend the bypass oil tube. Damage to the tube and the control valve can result.
Remove the oil bypass hose (1) from the bypass tube.
While holding the solenoid nut (3), loosen and remove the banjo screw
(4) and the two nylon washers (5) (one above and below the banjo fitting).
Remove the bypass tube (2) by rotating and lifting it from the control valve.

Loosen and remove the solenoid retaining nut (1).
Lift and remove the solenoid cover and solenoid coil (2) from the stem.
Remove the spring washer (3) and two washer spacers (4) that were under the solenoid valve.
Remove the o-ring (5) from the solenoid mounting stem.

Install
TOC
Lubricate and install a new o-ring (5) on the solenoid mounting stem.
Install the two washer spacers (4) and the spring washer (3).
Place the new solenoid coil and cover (2) on the valve mounting stem.
Install the solenoid retaining nut (1) and tighten.
Torque Value: 5 n.m [44 in-lb]

Finishing Steps

CAUTION

NOTE : Inspect the nylon washers for damage. Replace if necessary.
Inspect the o-ring on the bypass tube for damage. Replace if necessary.

Install the bypass tube (2) and align it with the solenoid retaining nut (3).
Install the banjo screw (4) and the two nylon washers (5).
While holding the solenoid nut (3), tighten the banjo screw (4).
Torque Value: 8 n.m [71 in-lb]
Install the oil bypass hose (1).
