Centinel System – Repair Manual – 020-012   Engine Brake Solenoid Valve

• Remove the rocker lever cover. Refer to Procedure 003-011.

Disconnect the engine brake wiring harness from the solenoid.

Use a 3/4 inch socket to remove the solenoid from the manifold.

Discard the three solenoid o-rings.

Check the resistance of each solenoid with the wiring harness disconnected from the solenoid.

Measure the resistance from the terminal to the body of the solenoid, as indicated in the illustration.

Replace the solenoid if not within specifications.

Inspect the engine brake wiring harness, if the solenoids are within specifications.

Lubricate the seal rings with clean engine oil.

Install the upper (1) and center (2) seal ring on the solenoid.

Coat the inside of the manifold with oil and place the lower seal ring (3) in the bottom of the manifold.

Install the solenoid into the manifold.

Tighten the solenoid.

Connect the engine brake wiring harness to the solenoid.

• Install the rocker lever cover. Refer to Procedure 003-011.
• Operate the engine and check for proper operation and leaks.
