 WARNING 

Fuel is flammable. Keep all cigarettes, flames, pilot lights, arcing equipment, and switches out of the work area and areas sharing ventilation to avoid severe personal injury or death when working on the fuel system.

If equipped, close the fuel shutoff valve before changing the fuel inlet restriction sensor. Failure to do so can allow the overhead tank to drain, causing a fuel leak.

Lift up on the locking tab and pull the electrical connectors apart.

Remove the sensor.

Install

Use quick-dry electrical contact cleaner, Part No. 3824510, to remove all dirt and moisture from the sensor connector port and the harness connector.

 CAUTION 

Use only Cummins-recommended lubricant DS-ES, Part No. 3822934. Other lubricants, such as lubricating oil or grease, in the connectors can cause ECM damage, poor engine performance, or premature connector wear.

Apply a small amount of lubricant to the connector terminals. Before installing, fill the entire connector cavity with lubricant.

Lubricate the sensor o-ring.

Install the fuel inlet restriction sensor.

Torque Value:  14  n.m  [124 in-lb]

Push the connectors together until they lock.
