Circuit Description

The OEM temperature sensor is used by the electronic control module (ECM) to monitor the temperature of an OEM-specified component. If the OEM temperature becomes too high and the engine protection is enabled, a derate condition can be incurred, possibly leading to shutdown.

Component Location

The sensor location is dependent on the OEM’s application and installation. Use the OEM troubleshooting and repair manual.
