Sensor Supply A – High Voltage
|
Overview
CODE | REASON | EFFECT |
Fault Code: 386 PID: S232 SPN: 1079 FMI: 3 LAMP: Yellow SRT: |
High voltage detected on the electronic control module (ECM) voltage supply wire to the intake manifold pressure, OEM pressure, coolant level, and remote accelerator sensors. |
Default values used for sensors connected to the +5-VDC supply and possible default to idle speed. Lower power can occur because fueling defaulted to no-boost fueling. Also, possible loss of engine protection for the sensors. |

Circuit Description
The ECM supplies each of these sensors with positive +5 VDC. If the supply wire to any sensor is damaged, the sensor will not work correctly.
Component Location
There are four components involved in the sensor voltage supply: Intake manifold pressure/temperature, OEM pressure, coolant level, and remote accelerator sensors. See Section E for component location.
Shop Talk
High voltage on the sensor +5-VDC supply wire will be caused by a short circuit to battery of the supply wire or a short circuit between an actuator wire and the supply wire.
