Fan Clutch Circuit Error

Error detected in the fan clutch circuit.

The fan can be on or off all of the time or is damaged.

Circuit Description

The electronic control module (ECM) can control the cooling fan based on inputs from the coolant temperature sensor and intake manifold temperature sensor.

Component Location

The fan clutch is located on front of the engine.

Shop Talk

Some applications will also provide inputs to the ECM for auxiliary device cooling (e.g., air conditioner pressure, power steering, and transmission temperature) or a manual fan switch for fan control. Verify that the features and parameters are set correctly for fan control.
