Description of component(s)
The engine speed is determined by the crankshaft sensor (F552) signal and as backup by the camshaft sensor (F558) signal. These signals are delivered to PCI ECU (D420).

Diagnostic condition
This diagnostic runs continuously when the engine is running.
Set condition of fault code
The PCI ECU (D420) detects that the engine speed is above 2300 rpm.
Reset condition of fault code
* This DTC changes to inactive when the fault is no longer detected.
* This fault cannot be cleared from the ECU memory.

* External combustible (e.g., oil from turbocharger) drawn into the inlet path.
* Operating fault.
Additional information
* The engine speed is determined by the crankshaft sensor (F552) signal and as backup by the camshaft sensor (F558) signal.

* The driver was informed by a warning.
* At the moment of troubleshooting this DTC, it is probably inactive. Interview the driver about the circumstances in which the overspeed event(s) occurred.
