1. Make sure that the vehicle stands on a flat and level surface.
2. Wait at least 5 minutes before checking the engine oil level of a hot engine.
3. Pull the dipstick out of the dipstick tube.
4. Wipe the dipstick clean with a lint-free cloth.
5. Put the dipstick back into the dipstick tube.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the oil level.
7. If necessary, add oil until it reaches the maximum level.
