Cause Correction

Fuel consumption and/or oil consumption data are inaccurate

Verify fuel consumption and/or oil consumption data. Refer to Procedure 018-003 for engine specific oil blend rates.

 

Lubricating oil leak (external)

Inspect the Centinel™ System for external oil leaks. Tighten any loose fittings if necessary. Refer to Procedure 007-088.

 

Failed oil seal (dual-piston only)

Inspect for oil coming out of vent. Refer to Procedure 007-078.

 

Oil and fuel consumption parameters are not correct (not applicable to integrated system)

Verify that the calibration plug is correct. Verify that the Centinel™ control module calibration values are correct. Refer to Procedure 019-131 and Procedure 209-001.

 

Electronic fault codes active or high counts of inactive fault codes

Read the fault codes with an electronic service tool. Refer to Section TF for fault code troubleshooting.

 

Lubricating oil control valve leaking (internal)

Inspect the oil control valve for internal oil leak. Refer to Procedure 007-078.

 

High number of key offs (in excess of eight key offs per 100 miles).

Disable Centinel™ and install check valve kit. Contact a Cummins Authorized Repair Facility.
